Fundamentals of Engineering Exam

  • If you are graduating in May, take the FE exam this spring.  The CEE department strongly encourages all seniors to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

  • Applications are available on-line at http://www.pcshq.com. See the link to the Iowa instructions.
  • Registration Deadline? Fundamentals of Engineering applications must be received by snail mail by Engineering Examination Services on March 1 for the April 12 examinations.
  • We recommend starting your application process weeks before the deadline. An application is not considered complete and will not be reviewed until all of the component parts are received
  • Will I pass? Probably; 80% to 100% of Iowa students pass but preparation requires review and study. Review guides are available from the University of Iowa Chapter of Chi Epsilon.

Prepare for the FE Exam.

  • Use the reference and review materials sold by CEE's ASCE student chapter . This year the CEE department will reimburse any CEE seniors who are registered for the FE.  The department will pay for the cost of reference and review books up to $50.  Bring your original receipt to the department administrative assistant, Angie Schenkel.
  • See the reference tables that will be provided at the exam.
  • Chi Epsilon is organizing review sessions.  The student group also has access to more study materials.

Participate in all the Review Sessions.
